A day of heritage and storytelling will bring the past to life in a parish rich with history.
St Andrew’s Church in North Swindon will host the event on Saturday, September 12, from 10am to 3pm as part of the national Heritage Open Days scheme.
Visitors will be invited to explore the Grade II* listed building, learn about the lives of those who once lived in the parish, and enjoy talks by local historians about the building, stained-glass windows and a graveyard tour.
This year’s theme will focus on the "Roaring ’20s" and the families who lived in the area during that era.
Reverend Sally Robertson said: "The church is not just a historic building but continues to be a worshipping community serving the parish of North Swindon."
The church dates back to the 13th century and was renovated in the 1860s by architect William Butterfield.
It features a tranquil churchyard and a collection of Victorian and 20th-century stained-glass windows.
Reverend Robertson said: "We worship every Sunday at 10am and at other times during each month.
"You can find more details of these events and others in the life of our church on our website."
Family-friendly activities and refreshments will be available throughout the day, with lunch served between 12.30pm and 2pm.
St Andrew’s Church is located on Tadpole Lane, SN25 2DW.
Visitors are encouraged to walk, cycle, or use public transport as only limited disabled parking is available on site.
