Search the Public Notice PortalResidents in Old Walcot have raised a number of concerns with local councillors, ranging from speeding vehicles to repainting road markings at junctions.
Councillors Emma Bushell and Abdul Amin hosted Swindon Borough Council's Chief Executive and Director of Public Health, Emma Kain, on a visit to Old Walcot, Swindon after residents raised several issues.
Residents met the group at 8.30am on Thursday, September 3, to discuss concerns over road safety, traffic congestion and parking during school drop-off times.
Among the issues raised were reports of speeding on Upham Road and Burford Avenue, with residents calling for speed cameras to be installed to help monitor traffic and improve safety.
They also requested that double yellow lines be extended at key junctions and that the junction road markings at the end of Burford Avenue and Cumberland Road should be repainted.
Residents also raised the need to replace fencing around the green space on Eastern Avenue.
Posting on Facebook after the visit, Cllr Bushell said: "We are finalising plans for our next residents meeting in Autumn where we hope to be able to update on some of these issues.
"Our concerns were acknowledged and we are particularly hopeful of improvements to the Burford/Cumberland junction - though we didn't quite manage to pin down a time frame for action from the Chief Exec!
"Unfortunately there are similar issues and calls on resources across Swindon, but we are hopeful progress can be made on at least some of these issues."
