Road closures will be in place across Swindon and the surrounding areas for Remembrance Sunday this weekend.
A number of streets will be shut to allow safe passage for much-anticipated Remembrance parades and services taking place in Swindon town centre, Upper Stratton, Wroughton and Highworth on Sunday, November 8.
Residents across the borough are expected to gather to pay tribute to soldiers who have lost their lives in conflicts, with ceremonies, wreath-laying and periods of reflection taking place throughout the morning.
In Swindon town centre, roads will be closed from 7am until noon on Sunday to accommodate the annual memorial parade and service.
These road closures include Commercial Road, Regent Circus and Temple Street.
During the event, wreaths will be laid at the Cenotaph in Regent Circus and a two-minute silence will be held in memory of those who served and sacrificed for their country.
The service traditionally attracts a large crowd, including veterans and servicemen, alongside the general public.
Last year, a military parade and Remembrance Service took place at the Cenotaph in Swindon's town centre.
In Upper Stratton, Green Road and St Philip's Road will be closed from 10.30am to 11.30am along the route from Upper Stratton Baptist Church to the Royal British Legion, where commemorations are due to take place.
Motorists are being warned to expect delays across the borough during the commemorations, with diversion routes also in place during the Upper Stratton parade.
Further services are planned in Wroughton and Highworth.
In Wroughton, Wharf Road, Church Hill and the High Street will be closed between 10.20am and 11.20am as residents gather for the village's annual parade and wreath-laying ceremony.
Highworth will also see closures from 10.50am to 11.30am, affecting Cherry Orchard, High Street and part of Swindon Street up to the war memorial as people take part in the town's Remembrance commemorations.
Swindon's main Remembrance Sunday service will take place at the Cenotaph in Regent Circus at 10.45am, with a separate Armistice Day service planned for Wednesday, November 11, at 10.55am.
For the Armistice Day event, attendees will witness the laying of crosses at the Cenotaph and a two-minute silence marking the moment the guns fell silent at the end of the First World War.
In preparation for the commemorations, Swindon Borough Council has installed around 1,000 poppies on lampposts across the town. The council's street cleaning team has also carried out work around the Cenotaph and surrounding paved areas to ensure the memorial is presented at its best ahead of the services.
