CHILDREN at Liden Pre-school put on their karate suits and boxing gloves to raise money for Prospect Hospice.
Ashley Eaglestone, from Swindon Martial Arts Alliance, invited youngsters to take part in karate, tae-kwon do and other martial arts last week.
As well as topping up Prospect's funds, some of the money from the event will go towards a new gazebo for the pre-school.
Ashley said: "All the school came together very well and we had a lot of generous contributions from the spectators that turned up.
"The pre-school pays for all its toys and structures, so I thought this was a good way to pay them back.
"Raising money for a place where people spend their last days is important, and it will be nice to see them get an injection of funds.
"Although they didn't top last year's amount of £2,700, a lot of money was raised for some good causes."
