SWINDON Film Society will be showing The Bridesmaid at Wanborough Village Hall in aid of the hall's Raise The Roof fund.

The film, directed by Claude Chabrol (dubbed the French Hitchcock), is an unsettling story of love and obsession by Ruth Rendell. Hard-working Philippe finds his orderly existence thrown into disarray when he meets the mysterious Santa at his sister's wedding and falls madly in love. The film is in French with English subtitles.

It starts at 7.45pm on Thursday, November 13 and doors open at 6.45pm for the sale of a hot or cold supper and wine or soft drinks.

Tickets are £4 (SFS members and concessions £3) and are available from Wanborough Village Stores.
