OUT of this world fun was had by youngsters who went into deep space – without leaving school.
A mobile planetarium – Space Odyssey – touched down in Liden Primary School and 180 pupils, from years one, two, five and six ventured into the huge inflatable dome to be told about the latest news and discoveries from space. They also learnt about space travel, the planets of the solar system and constellations.
Amina Ali, nine, a Year 5 pupil, said: “It was amazing and it was great to see the stars and planets.”
Classmate Benjamin Blanks, nine, said: “It was a great space experience and I learned a lot.”
It was not only children who got something out of the experience.
Rob Morris, the Year 6 teacher, said: “Having Space Odyssey visit us at the beginning of our topic work was a wonderful stimulus that has left the children motivated and ready to learn about the wonders of the planets and space.”
