POLICE are asking drivers to make sure their windscreens are fully cleared of snow and ice before they drive.
They are reminding motorist who fail to clear their windscreens that they may be committing an offence and could be liable to prosecution.
According to the police, roads accross the county are passable with extreme care.
The Highways Agency has advised people not to drive unless they have to.
If the journey is essential, they recommend making sure you have warm clothes, food, water, boots, a torch and spade.
They are also reminding drivers to keep their distance, allow extra room to slow down and stop, drive more slowly and avoid making any sharp driving movements.
