FORECASTERS are predicting temperatures in Swindon will rise over the next few days but more snow is expected.
Last night the temperature dropped to minus 3C and around 1cm of snow fell. A layer of ice formed on top of the snow causing poor road conditions.
Today it’s expected to remain dry and bright with patches of sunshine, and perhaps a few flakes of snow will fall at dinner-time.
Overnight when the temperatures drop to minus 1C heavier spells of snow are expected until the early hours of tomorrow morning.
Stephen Holman, a forecaster from the Met Office, in Exeter, said tomorrow will be a "messy" day in Swindon, with rain and sleet falling and possible outbreaks of snow, although the temperature should have risen to about 4C.
On Friday there should be a few small outbreaks of snow with the weather clearing up by Friday evening.
On Saturday, temperatures should be about 4C with sunshine, but Sunday is expected to be rainy with temperatures rising to 7C.
