Marti is about to star as Darryl Van Horne in The Witches Of Eastwick at the Bristol Hippodrome, alongside Ria Jones, Rebecca Thornhill and Poppy Tiernery.

The musical is based on the Warner Brothers film, which starred Jack Nicholson in the lead role. The story is based around three housewives in small town America who wish for the man of their dreams. They soon learn to trust the old saying: Be careful what you wish for.

Wet Wet Wet was formed in1982. The first incarnation was called Vortex Motion and was the brainchild of Marti and his pals from Clydebank High School in Scotland. The guys changed their name to Wet Wet Wet, taking the line from the Scritti Politti song Gettin’, Havin’ And Holdin’.

They had numerous hit records and their number one single Love Is All Around stayed at the top of the UK charts for 16 weeks in 1994.

The guys split up in 1997 but got back together in 2004. Marti also has a successful solo career. He recorded a number of albums and singles including Smile, Moonlight Over Memphis, Close To You and A Lot of Love.

He has starred in Chicago in the West End, and in Tim Rice’s concert revival of Chess at the Royal Albert Hall.
