LATIN may be a dead language in Swindon without someone to head up the only GCSE course on it in the town.
New College, off Queens Drive, Walcot, is searching for a new Latin lecturer for the popular course.
Students get the chance to speak and write the language.
However, during the course of the qualification students will also have the chance to study the Roman civilisation and the development of Roman culture in Pompeii.
Graham Taylor, the principal of New College, said: “Offering courses such as Latin is the foundation of New College – providing students with the opportunity to study a range of courses which will aid them in their chosen career path.
“Latin is really popular with our students, and we are looking for a talented teacher to develop this area.”
