Staff from Tesco Extra in Trowbridge handed over £10,000 to the Wiltshire Bobby Van Trust to help the charity provide support to victims of crime across the county.
The donation, from the Tesco Charity Trust, will help fund the running of the Bobby Van continue its good work helping elderly and vulnerable people who have been a victim of crime, or who are at risk of becoming a victim.
Rob Edginton, trading manager at Tesco in County Way handed over the cheque on March 23.
He said: “It’s great to be able to help such a deserving charity who are so passionate about what they do.
“By helping the disadvantaged remain safe and independent, they make a real contribution to the local community.”
The Bobby Van’s leasing and expenses were £23,696 last year for its three vans, which works out as £7,900 per van, therefore grants and fundraising are essential to keep the trust going.
