PUPILS at Hreod Parkway School took part in a fashion show to raise money for new equipment.

Tracey Hobbs, from the Parents and Teachers Association said the event had been a huge success, raising £500. Local companies helped out with everything the youngsters needed for their night on the catwalk including Jenson's in Gorse Hill who provided the men's outfits.

The girl's gowns were on loan from Debenhams. Mrs Hobbs said: "The PTA organised it with the help of staff and pupils.

"It was really successful we had about 150 people and we raised £500 for new speakers and a sound system."

Twelve girls and six boys took part in the show and Mrs Hobbs said: "Initially they took some persuading but once they had their outfits on they loved it. It was the second year we've done it and I think it will become a permanent fixture in our calendar because it went so well."

Trudi Neves, 15, who was one of the models, said all the pupils had enjoyed talking part.

"It was really good fun," she said.

"I think being a model would be a good job but I'm not sure I could handle the fame."
