Animal Antics 1.
I had to travel by car from West Swindon to the Great Western Hospital on Tuesday and when I parked I found a snail in the rear wheel arch.
Apparently it had crawled in there in the night from the garden, thinking it was a nice safe and warm place to shelter from the rain.
It could not have been prepared for the journey of ten miles or so, including seven miles hurtling down the motorway at 70 mph. It must have used all its slime to hang on for dear life!
But it didn't have to go to A & E. It survived and is now gracing a shrubby border in the car park, in a foreign land.
It was a sort of Springwatch "Wow!" moment... How resilient our snails are.
Have you an Animal Antics story to share? It must be related to West Swindon.
