Talk and Toys - Drop in for families with children from 0 to 5. Meet other parents. Fun and learning activities. 2 Sessions. Coffee time and snacks provided for children. Contribution of 50p per family.

MONDAYS 9.30 - 11.30am
Child Minding Group - drop in group for all childminders in the area. Oppportunity to meet other childminders, discuss ideas for play and development of children. Please telephone for dates.

MONDAYS 1.00pm - 2.00pm
Swindon Pregnancy Crisis drop in
Support and advice, just drop in. Every 2nd Monday of the month at Penhill and every 3rd Thursday of the month at Pinehurst.

TUESDAYS 9.30am - 11.00am
Lemon & Co FREE ½ hour session with a solicitor on family law, eg money, relationships, children, divorce. Runs alternate weeks. Booking required.

TUESDAYS 9.30am - 12.00pm
Healthy Cooking on a Budget - 6 week course
Prepare healthy nutritional meals for your family, learn new recipes. Charge of £1.50 a week to cover the cost of ingredients. FREE Crèche available. Booking required.

TUESDAYS 1.00pm -2.00pm
Come along for 45 minutes of low impact walking with your children followed by a healthy snack. Bring buggies and prams.

WEDNESDAYS 9.00am - 12.00pm
Basic Family First Aid course.
six hour course running over 3rd & 10th November. FREE Crèche available. Booking required

Midwife Drop in
Come along for information, advice and support in pregnancy and up to 28 days after your baby’s birth. Drop in session 9.30 to 10.00 and appointments from 10.00 to 11.00 which will need to be booked.

WEDNESDAYS 1.45pm - 3.45pm
Child Health Clinic
Meet other parents, have your baby weighed. Health Visitors available to give you support and advice on any issues concerning your child. A school nurse is available on the 1st Wednesday of every month.

THURSDAYS 9.30am - 11.00am
Drop-in group for mums, mums-to-be,dads,grandparents, carers, childminders with a baby aged 1 year and under.
Fun and learning activities eg advice, info on how children develop and learn.

THURSDAYS 12.00pm - 2.00pm
Drop in group for dads and children held at the North Swindon Family Centre in Atworth Close.
Join in with arts and crafts, snacks,advice and support. 50p per family for tasty snacks.

FRIDAYS 9.30 - 11.30am
BREASTMATES
An informal drop in group for breastfeeding mums to get together for advice, support, coffee and a chat, toys for babies and older children. FREE Bravado Nursing Bras available.

DID YOU KNOW? To help make it easier for families to access services, a range of professionals hold their clinics in the Children’s Centre such as, the Speech and Language Therapist, Pediatrician, Physiotherapist and an Employment Advisor.

NEWS AND INFO
Registering your child for school. If your child attends a school nursery they will not automatically be registered for that school. Parents need to do this themselves. You can register on-line through Swindon Borough council between 1st September 2010 and the deadline which is 15th January 2011. This would be for a child starting school in September following their 4th birthday.

New Recipe ideas. As a way of sharing healthy eating ideas, we have a range of recipes available free to try at home.

A few changes at the Penhill Children’s Centre. We have now had our alterations carried out which we decided upon last year, a new pram buggy park, refurbished washrooms and the foyer area has had a lick of paint. We are also offering new groups in response to what parents asked for eg a Baby Buddies group in Pinehurst, a new group called One Step Forward and a group called Walk n’ Talk.
