MORE than 1,500 households have signed up to save water across the town.
Save Water Swindon, a joint venture from Thames Water, Waterwise and WWF, aims to help everyone in Swindon use less water.
It asks people to save 20 litres a day and – since being launched in June – 1,563 residents have signed up.
The campaign asks people to have shorter showers, get dripping taps mended and to think twice about using a hosepipe.
It offers free home makeovers to reduce water wastage, and water-saving kits, including ‘hippo’ bags for toilets and gel tablets for hanging baskets.
