RESIDENTS are running out of time to have their say on how £700,000 is to be spent.

The cash, gained by the council thanks to section 106 agreements with developers, could be used for any projects in the northern development sector – covering the Haydon and Abbey Meads area.

Residents have until February 28 to come up with ideas for spending the money.

Among the suggestions at the moment are a community building, security lights for a children’s play area, or buying grit bins for icy weather.

Anyone wishing to register an idea can do so by emailing ward councillor Peter Heaton-Jones at or writing to Vera Tomlinson at Vera Tomlinson: Civic Offices, Euclid Street, Swindon SN1 2JH.
