THE Swindon Animals Asia Support Group is launching its CD next week.

The event, which will see the CD called Fragile go on sale for the first time, will take place as part of the group’s charity curry night at the Bombay Lounge on July 3.

The album has been put together by Swindon-born saxophonist Jon Rebbeck and his band Soul Traders, who wanted to do something special to help raise awareness after hearing about the plight of the moon bears, who are milked for their bile which is used in traditonal Chinese medicines.

“FRAGILE is our group’s debut album and has been produced to raise awareness and funds for Animals Asia’s work to end bear bile farming,” said Jon, who regularly visits his family who still live in Swindon.

“Proceeds from the sale of this CD will go to Animals Asia. The songs were selected specifically with the moon bears in mind; the lyrics of the title song an appropriate tribute to these beautiful animals that can endure years of terrible physical and mental suffering – ‘lest we forget how fragile we are’.
