SWINDON contract packaging company Wasdell Packaging has appointed Mandy Western-McCulloch and Aneta Jell to their validation and QP teams.

Mandy, an experienced forensic scientist, has become a validation officer, responsible for ensuring that the equipment and processes used at Wasdell are compliant and so licenced pharmaceuticals can be packaged at Wasdell’s sites.

Aneta has joined Wasdell as trainee qualified person (QP).

Aneta has over 18 years’ experience in the pharmaceutical industry, having formerly been quality manager at Reading Scientific Services Ltd. She will now undergo two years of training under the guidance of Wasdell’s QP Colin Newbould in order to qualify to release pharmaceutical products to the market.

The two appointments will enable Wasdell to continue their growth in the Swindon area and meet increasing customer demand for their packaging services.

Mandy initially joined Wasdell as a receptionist before moving into the validation department where her skills and experience could be put to good use. She explained: “I was impressed by the bespoke work Wasdell do and the way they treat their customers and so when I was looking to get back into work after having my son I knew it would be a good place to go. It’s great to be able to use my knowledge too and grow within the company and move according to where they need me and can use my skills.”

Aneta, who speaks five languages including being fluent in three, added: “This was the next step in my career path and Trainee QP positions are becoming harder to find so finding a role in the town I live in is a good opportunity.”

Martin Tedham, managing director of Wasdell, said: “The business is growing rapidly and in order to meet new demand we needed to expand our validation and QP teams. Aneta and Mandy are already assets to the business and key parts of our future projections.”
