A MULTI-MILLION pound development of seven high-quality warehouse and industrial units in Swindon has been started.

The Ignition site, on Faraday road, by construction contractor MCS Group has been started this week and is expected to be complete in June 2019.

Phase one of the development includes seven units, with office space, ranging from 20,000 sq ft and 80,500 sq ft, all have associated car parking, and are eight to 12.5 metres in height.

Tim Perkins, group development director at MCS Group, said: “This is an excellent development and we’re looking forward to delivering a first class business park in Swindon. It will provide opportunities for businesses to move to the area and create employment opportunities for local people.”

In addition to delivering warehouse and industrial schemes, Warwickshire-based MCS has built and refurbished more than 300 car dealerships across the country.

The company recently completed a £6.5m Jaguar showroom, on Dorcan Way, on behalf of Cambria Automobiles.

The development, which is on the site of the former Swindon Motor Park, has enough room for 18 display vehicles, a workshop, MOT Bays and a 130 space rooftop car park.
