A VOLVO car dealer in Swindon is hoping an award from the BBC Topgear Magazine will send more customers their way.
The flagship car magazine gave the Volvo XC40 its SUV of The Year award, with judges praising its all round quality and durability, adding that it was distinctive for its "sense of all-weather security" and practical cabin and controls.
Eddie Musselwhite, general sales manager at Waylands Volvo Swindon, said: “It’s absolutely fantastic to see the XC40 named SUV of the Year by such a reputable magazine.
“The premium car might be the smallest SUV in Volvo’s line-up, but it encapsulates everything the Volvo brand aims to deliver in terms of striking, modern design, effective, intelligent use of new technologies, along with innovative engineering and unparalleled safety.
“We are immensely proud of the XC40 and we encourage car buyers in Swindon to come and take a test drive to experience its award-winning features for themselves.”
The compact XC40, launched in September 2017, already won European Car of the Year by What Car?And has enjoyed record launch sales performance.
