A FORMER bank manager has joined the Swindon office of the Thames Valley Chamber of Commerce.

Tim Major, who has previously worked for Natwest and RBS, will join the organisation representing more than 4,000 business to drive further recruitment.

"I've worked in Swindon, on and off, for most of my career – and it's great to be back!" said Tim, who will be in charge of recruiting more businesses to the organisation.

"And I'm coming back at such an exciting time – from my desk I can watch development work at the Kimmerfields development site.

"Within a few years visitors will get disembark from their electric train to be greeted by 600,000 sq ft of commercial offices and 100,000 sq ft of retail space – it's terrific for the town!"

The Chamber is starting 2019 with a number of events aimed small and medium sized businesses.

The first of which will be a sold-out corporate dinner on January 24 at Chiseldon House discussing the Kimmerfields Site.

Last year the site was outlined for a half billion-pound development by Zurich to help regenerate Swindon Town Centre.
