ZURICH has leaped ahead in a national UK customer satisfaction survey.

According to the UK Customer Satisfaction Awards the Swindon-based insurer has gone from 188th last year to being number 12 out of 247 brands across 13 sectors.

The index uses 25 different measures, including professionalism, the quality and efficiency of service, trust and transparency, and complaint handling and ethics, based on 10,000 customer surveys.

It was also ranked number one in the insurance sector for ethical business behaviours.

Tulsi Naidu, Zurich’s chief executive, said: "We want to be known as the quality option for customers and our ongoing transformation is about creating a simpler, more innovative business that is highly customer focused.

“It is particularly gratifying to be ranked as the number one insurer for ethical standards and connecting with consumers.
