AMBASSADORS for the benefits of apprenticeships are needed from firms across Wiltshire.

The Apprenticeship Ambassador Network, run by Wiltshire Council, aims to bring together employers and apprentices to act as role models by sharing their experience and building up positive case studies for others to follow.

Laura Mayes, Wiltshire Council cabinet member for children’s services, said: “There are a number of exciting apprenticeships available with a range of employers throughout Wiltshire. We know there is nothing like hearing what a role entails from those who are doing the work.

“We want to encourage more employers to publicise their experiences of having apprentices, which in turn promotes their business as well as inspiring the next generation.”

Those signing up to the AAN will be part of a regional network of ambassadors and will have support as they promote the work their company is carrying out with apprenticeships.

Employers and apprentices interested in being ambassadors can contact Rachael Johnson at workwilts@wiltshire.gov.uk.

The drive follows on from National Apprenticeship Week last week.
