MEETING Santa was a Christmas Wish come true for little James Moore and his mum.

James, now five, was nominated by mum Jane’s friend, Lyn Heather, who felt he deserved a special present after a difficult year for the family.

Jane, of Moredon Park, was left devastated after a difficult divorce, which forced her to declare herself bankrupt, and she had been ill and worried she would lose her home.

She said the Christmas Wish at Roves Farm last year had given her and James a lift in time for Christmas.

“James was absolutely thrilled, he was really excited. We had had a difficult year so it was a pretty special thing to be given at that time of the year,” she said.

“I was very emotional and it was very special. Lyn has been a huge support and a great friend to James and I over the last year. I want to say a huge thanks to her for that.

“We had a difficult time last year but we’ve had a pretty good year in 2012.”

Roves Farm treated James and his mum and aunt to a day which saw him star as Joseph in the farm’s nativity play alongside real donkeys, enjoy a visit with Santa and he had a chance to feed the animals.

When Lyn contacted the Adver, she said: “James’ mum has had a really hard time and does not have much money. Her son is a lovely little boy, well mannered. I would like him to meet Santa – it would be so special and a lovely start to Christmas and a brilliant surprise, too.”

We launched our Christmas Wish Appeal 2012 on Monday – and we want to hear from you about the people who deserve an extra special treat this year.

From December 11 to Christmas Eve, we will be granting a wish a day for one worthy person or group in Swindon or the nearby villages.

Wishes can be big or small, our aim is simply to make Christmas as magical as possible for those who deserve it most.

If you can think of someone who really needs or deserves cheering up this Christmas, tell us who the person is, why they need a Christmas Wish and how we can help.
