THERE have been 108 coronavirus cases confirmed in Swindon within the last seven days, including 18 within the most recent 24 hours.
This is 52 more positive Covid-19 tests recorded than the week before - a rise of 92.9 per cent.
The borough's infection rate as of June 11 was 28.8 cases per 100,000 population.
The latest UK figures show the number of daily reported cases has risen above 9,000 for the first time since February 25.
On that date, there were 9,985 reported cases.
The government said a further nine people had died within 28 days of testing positive for Covid-19 as of Wednesday, bringing the UK total to 127,926.
Separate figures published by the Office for National Statistics show there have been 153,000 deaths registered in the UK where Covid-19 was mentioned on the death certificate.
The government added that as of 9am on Wednesday, there had been a further 9,055 lab-confirmed cases in the UK.
