Nationwide employees were allowed to wear sports tops to work in support of England’s World Cup semi-final match against Croatia – which kicks off at 7pm tonight.
The dress down day was for all members of staff including the bank’s branch in the town centre on Regent Street.
A spokesperson for Nationwide said: “We have made this dress down day available for all Nationwide employees.
“No matter what the sport, we've invited staff to proudly show their support for the England football team, as well as their other sporting favourites – and celebrate the power of team spirit.
“Wearing a sports shirt is completely voluntary but can include anything from football, hockey, rugby, tennis, racing and we want everyone to feel comfortable in who they support.
