Nationwide is paying a £100 double bonus payments into certain accounts.

If you haven't heard, the building society paid out £50 to millions of its customers during April as part of its "Big Thank You" initiative.

The payout is part of the building society's Big Nationwide Thank You and reflects the purchase of Virgin Money.

To say thank you, the website confirmed that over 12 million members would receive £50 each - more than £600 million in total - on April 30 2025.

To qualify, you must have been a Nationwide member on September 30 2024. And still be a member on April 30 this year.

Payments started landing in bank accounts on Wednesday, April 9, but some people have spotted £100 payments when logging into their banking apps.

These include joint accounts for couples with a mortgage or savings, for example.

This is because it is a joint account used by two customers.

Payments could be made up to April 30, so not everyone may have the money yet.

Customers who had a savings or current account, or mortgage, at the end of last September will qualify.

This is as long as they made at least one transaction on their current account or savings or had a balance of at least £100 in their current account, savings or mortgage in the 12 months to the end of September 2024.

They also must still be customers with Nationwide now.
