AFC Mannington led the charge for Swindon Sunday League teams still involved in the Wiltshire Sunday Cup as they eased into the third round of the county competition at the weekend.

Louis O’Shea bagged a brilliant hat-trick to help Mannington claim a dominant 6-1 victory on their trip to league rivals the Boundary House.

Kyle Parker also struck twice, with one from Joseph Ouldridge completing Mannington’s lot. Kieran Butler got the sole reply for House.

There were plenty of all-Swindon League battles on the day as Croft Junior won 5-1 away at Gorsehill Borough.

Lee Toomey led the charge for the winners with two goals, and there was one each for Stefan Edwards, Joe Hiscock and Jamil Anderson.

Penhill United were awarded a home walkover against Uppercuts, who were unable to raise a side for the game.

Atletico Marlborough were drawn at home to Chippenham League side Wednesday Warriors and roared to an emphatic 7-0 success to seal their progress.

PSV Swindon will look to secure their own county cup progress next weekend after their clash away at Chippenham League outfit Bromham was re-arranged after Sunday’s original contest was postponed.

In league matches, there were none at all in Division One over the weekend and just one in Division Two as Nationwide triumphed 7-2 in their clash at home to RH Woodlands Edge.

Sean Creeley got four of Nationwide’s goals, James Joyce struck twice and there was a single for Simon Olding.

The result lifts Nationwide up to second place in the table and they are now just three points behind AFC Mannington with two games in hand on the leaders.

Most of the league action came in Division Three, where four matches took place in total.

Lewis Taylor clearly had his shooting boots with him for Bakers Sunday as he struck four times in their 6-0 success away at Ridgeway Rovers.

Efforts from Jordan Taylor and Hayden Watson rounded off the one-sided scoreline.

Woven edged a 3-2 thriller when they travelled to Swiss Chalet, Jack Skyrme’s double fired AFC Stratton to a 2-1 win at Swindon Rovers, while Smartmovers were 1-0 winners at home to Sevenfields United.
