A recent crash on Queens Drive sparked debate about why these accidents happen so often on Swindon's roads.
Rebecca Clements called for the speed limit to be lowered after witnessing a car hit a lamppost and flip onto its roof earlier this month.
Adver readers had their say on road safety and what could be done to improve the standard of driving in the area.
Andy Harrison said: "As part of my job, I spend 13-hour shifts driving around Swindon and the standard of driving, especially at night is appalling.
"Whilst appreciating that many of the line markings are poor, far too many fail to maintain lane discipline, stay in the correct lane on roundabouts and drive too fast for the road conditions.

"I've lost count of the amount of near misses I've only avoided because I keep my eyes open on what other users are doing and how they are driving.
"Lane drifting is so common and clearly the driving test should now include Night Driving as part of the test.
"From the poor standard of driving, I suspect too many on the roads do not have a licence or insurance. Following the RPU social media reports gives a real insight into this nationwide issue."
Ryan Rose said: "Lane control would solve most issues in this town. It's insane how many don't know how to follow lines and arrows and keep to their lanes."
Helen Osborne added: "Whatever speed it’s reduced to, they will still drive too fast."
Martin Dowdeswell said: "Our whole estate is a 20mph limit and very clearly marked, and yet still the vast majority are driving along at minimum 30mph.
"A speed camera would be great and raise a huge revenue for the council. Some say cameras are just a cash cow, I say don't speed and no fines are paid."
Chris Langford said: "As we all know, the roads nowadays are very poor with cracks and pot holes this time of year, the roads are wet and greasy.
"People need to think twice and slow down and have more forward planning and lane discipline and stop rushing around trying to get from a to b as fast as they can."
Alan Wilson said: "The standard of driving is getting worse by the day.
"Noncompliance to the Highway Code is a significant factor.
"Speeding is absolutely rife across all parts of Swindon.
"There are too many chancers driving on the roads nowadays. They do it knowing there's little, if any, chance of ever getting caught.
"Bring back cameras but, let local councils keep the fine money rather than going to central government."
One commenter added: "Nothing to do with speed limits that's just poor driving. Easy problem to solve - retests every 10 years."
Phill Veitch said: "Speed is part of the issue, but driving standards is also part of the issue as well as new drivers having access to powerful cars and not being able to control them.
"I think it should be the same as motorcycles, limited power for a certain period of time after passing test."
Tyla Readman said: "I live on Queens Drive and I have seen more crashes in the last two years on this road than I have in my 35 years of life."
Mark Toombs said: "It’s getting ridiculous now on that road, definitely need to put speed cameras down there."
Phil Crook said: "I was behind a vehicle, small ‘hatchback’ last week in the West Swindon area that I saw shoot three successive red lights at speed in middle of an afternoon.
"Pity it didn’t get caught on camera as that’s nine points before you start. You can imagine what goes on after dark."
Kieron Clifford summarised: "People just can't drive properly, so many people who shouldn't be on the roads cause they're just bad drivers."
