PUBS across Wiltshire are celebrating after being named the best of the best in awards organised by Devizes brewery Wadworth.

On of the big winners of the night on Monday was the Pheasant in Chippenham winning the best chef and best food awards and taking silver for best manager.

Other Wiltshire winners on the night included David Conroy at the New Inn, Coate, near Devizes who took the prize for the best customer experience in a tenanted pub. Chris Bryant of the Red Lion and George Inn, Lacock won the prize for the best managed marketing pub while best kept cellar went to Kate Pattison at the Mill Stream, Marden, near Devizes.

Best Neighbourhood Award went to Kelly Dodsworth at the Cross Keys in Rowde and Best Tenanted Trade Retailer Award to Danny and Tara Adams at the Greyhound in Bromham.

Darren and Kirsty Mingham received the silver award for Best Newcomer at their Cross Keys in Wanborough.

A special recognition award was presented to Gordon Straker for his dedication as business manager at Wadworth’s flagship hotel and pub, The Bear Hotel in Devizes.

The annual awards, which took place at The Bear Hotel’s ballroom in Devizes, celebrated the best hospitality talent across the Wadworth estate and saw a total of 19 accolades being awarded to the stand out managers, tenants, chefs, team members and pubs.
