A STRIKER from the Indian Ocean island of Reunion and a midfielder from Albania complete the list of trialists currently training with Swindon Town.

The Advertiser has learnt that Kilmarnock forward William Gros and Banbury United man Albi Skendi are looking to earn themselves contracts with the Robins by impressing manager Kevin MacDonald at Liddington.

Gros joined Killie as an amateur from Le Havre in 2010 before breaking into the Scottish Premier League side’s first team and scoring on his debut against St Mirren.

He went on to make a further 40 appearances for the Rugby Park side in all competitions up until this summer, but only managed one more goal - in a 2-0 victory over Motherwell in February this year. Skendi, meanwhile, is a giant midfielder-cum-striker who is the third of three Banbury players aiming to impress with the Robins.

The Albanian, 19, joined the Puritans in November 2012 after progressing through Oxford City’s youth academy.

The other trialists currently at Town include goalkeeper Yannick Ntale, midfielders Louis Harris and Kynan Isaac and forward Adeyinka Talabi.

Harry Agombar is also part of the Swindon set-up this pre-season, although his trialist status has yet to be confirmed.
