BOSS Dave Webb has begun his mission to rebuild Swindon Supermarine's squad by making a seven-day approach for striker Josh Parsons from Southern Premier Hungerford.

Parsons was part of the trio that departed the Webb's Wood for Bobby Wilkinson's side this summer - with Ash Edenborough and Chris Taylor being the others - but all three could be back at Marine with three months of the season gone.

There are not expected to be any hitches in the deal.

Webb is in dire need of reinforcements up top following the departure of top scorer and Swindon Town loanee Kayden Jackson, while fellow forward Ben Whitehead also left for Didcot a week ago.

And Parsons, who combined with Edenborough netted more than 50 goals for Marine on their way to the Southern League Division One South & West play-off semi-final last season, is the man who Webb believes will restore Marine's attacking potency.

In addition to the exits of Jackson and Whitehead, Harry Etheridge and Danny Allen have also left South Marston in recent weeks, for Thatcham and retirement respectively.

Webb has four seven-day approaches in for players at present and is hoping that midfielder Rob Dean will reject the attentions of Chippenham, who on Thursday made a seven-day approach.
