SWINDON Town have signed former Reading man Ben Gladwin from non-league Marlow.

The giant midfielder was announced as Town's latest signing in a statement this lunchtime.

The statement read: "Swindon Town have signed central midfielder Ben Gladwin from non-league side, Marlow FC.

"The 21-year-old has put pen to paper on a deal until June 2015 and he spoke to the official website shortly after signing.

""I’ve come from non-league football," he said. “I’ve been quite fortunate that I’ve played quite well this season and I think Swindon came to watch me. I came for a few days on trial and they’ve decided to sign me.”

"He continued: “I’m a central midfielder. I like to get on the ball, try and move it about I like to go past players and hopefully score some goals. I was at Reading as a young boy from about 9-14 but I got released because I was too small. I’ve had a bit of a growth spurt in the last couple of years but that was my last professional experience.

“I’ve loved it here so far. The boys have been really welcoming - on the first day when I came in, they all introduced themselves and the training has been fantastic. It’s going to take a little while for the body to get used to training every day but I’m really enjoying it. I played in a training game earlier this week and the manager, Mark Cooper, said he was pleased and he was quite impressed. He has given me a few little bits of advice to improve and he’s been really good.”
