SWINDON Town have confirmed the signing of full-back James Brophy following his successful trial at the County Ground.

The 21-year-old, who can also operate at the wing, has penned a one-year deal with Town and will wear the number 15 shirt next season.

Last season, Brophy featured for Edgware Town, who play at the equivalent level of the Hellenic League.

Meanwhile, Liverpool loan goalkeeper Lawrence Vigouroux has been handed the number one shirt by Town, with fellow stopper Tyrell Belford retaining the number 25 jersey.

Nathan Byrne’s desire to operate in a more advanced position next term has been reiterated by him taking the number 10, vacated by the departed Andy Williams, whilst new signings Brandon Ormonde-Ottewill, Fabien Robert and Drissa Traore have been given number three, four and seven shirts respectively.

Southampton loanee Jordan Turnbull will be back wearing number six whilst Jordan Williams and Kevin Stewart, who like Vigouroux will spend the season at Town on a temporary basis from Premier League giants Liverpool, will wear five and 11.

Youngster Ellis Iandolo has been given the number 28 shirt whilst striker Miles Storey is conspicuous by his absence from Town’s squad number list.
