BEHIND the scenes we are having various meetings and discussing how we can further improve attendances by encouraging more families to the County Ground.

Working with the club we are looking at a new discount card that will be rolled out within the local school and youth football community, and although there are still some hurdles to overcome, things are progressing well and further details will follow in the near future. It’s an exciting project and we would like to thank Steve Anderson and Adam Wainwright (from Swindon Town) for their help in supporting these ideas that can make a huge difference to our football club over the longer term.

In other news, we’re delighted to announce that we are Jordan Stewart’s kit sponsors for the coming season. Jordan is an exciting prospect and the initial signs are he is a young lad with a great attitude towards the game and a hunger to succeed as a full-time professional footballer, plus anyone that has seen his highlights reel on YouTube can see that he could be quite a player for us.

We enjoyed some great moments as kit sponsors of Harry Toffolo last season, and hopefully we can continue that trend and work with Jordan in the local community to some extent.

We’ve also been working hard behind the scenes on the Red Army Fund and there has been some good interest from local companies that are keen to help in some way. We’ve had many supporter sign-ups, but we need lots more, and we also need more businesses and organisations involved in order to achieve our goals.

Town fan Derek Owen was the first to sign up to the Fund, and coincidentally also the first to collect his TrustSTFC 1879 Retro Shirt that comes as a benefit within either the Silver (£10 per month) or Gold Membership (£25 per month) packages. The fund will be used to help “Raise the Roof” on Stratton Bank but also for many other things. If you haven’t seen it already there is a great animated video (featuring former striker Sam Parkin) on the official website: www.redarmyfund.co.uk This is an ongoing promotion throughout the season, and we’ll also be outside the ground on Saturday Matchdays promoting the cause. Please show your support and sign up.
