THINGS have been very busy behind the scenes at TrustSTFC, as we seek to achieve a number of key breakthroughs regarding funding.

Last week we held meetings with several companies who are keen to support our initiatives in whatever way they can, and we are looking forward to developing several ideas that should see additional income for the Red Army Fund.

We also had a meeting with a major business networking group, and there will soon be some new announcements there, as we look to forge a path into local industry.

In addition, we were joined at our Trust board meeting last week by Justin Tomlinson MP, who is a long-term supporter of the Trust. There were some very interesting conversations in relation to improving facilities for disabled supporters, which was very much of interest now that Justin is parliamentary under secretary of state for disabled people.

We are interested in raising money for the Stratton Bank roof via public and private commercial funding, as well as via the Swindon Town fanbase, however local support is an important factor in this, so please play your part and sign up via www.redarmyfund.co.uk.

As you are probably aware, we are a small group of local supporters who work on Trust activities in our spare time. Despite this, we’ve achieved some good stuff over the last year or so, however we now need more assistance in order to achieve our goals.

Aside from the initial press launch in the Swindon Advertiser, we’ve done very little promotion of the Red Army Fund in the local media and within the local community. This is purely down to our limited resources, so this week we would like to appeal for help from any PR professionals out there.

Please get in touch if you have any interest in this area, we have no money to spend, but we’re looking for passionate Town fans who are willing to give up some of their spare time.

The Red Army Fund will be used to ‘Raise the Roof’ on Stratton Bank but also for many other things. If you haven’t seen it, there is a great animated video (featuring former striker Sam Parkin) on the official website: www.redarmyfund.co.uk.

This is an ongoing promotion throughout the season, and we’ll also be outside the ground on Saturday Matchdays promoting the cause. Please show your support and sign up.
