IF it’s been make or break time at Swindon for the past four or five weeks when we were facing other clubs fighting relegation all around us, then we are now entering the last chance saloon.

February did not start too well, with Swindon being beaten in the first three games of the month.

Two of those games were against fellow strugglers Bury and Northampton. While Swindon remained in the relegation zone, Northampton could put some distance between them and the dotted line.

Then came a run of games that saw a resurgent Town, picking up seven points from a possible nine. Surely there is some belief that we could actually be a rival to Harry Houdini.

Against Chesterfield last weekend it was another must win game, as all of them have become at this stage in the season.

We were masters of our own downfall, 20 attempts on goal, five on target, but we were unable to find the back of the net.

The Great Escape was stalled with the last kick of the game when we found ourselves on the end of a hard to accept defeat.

Fail to win against Port Vale and League One survival could just be like Steve McQueen’s motorbike ride, or, An Obstacle Too Far.
