SWINDON Town goalkeeper Will Henry has joined National League South side Hampton & Richmond Borough on loan until the end of the season.

The 19-year-old, who has made 10 Town appearances, has linked up with the London-based promotion chasers and is expected to feature in their league clash against Whitehawk on Saturday.

Henry, who received his first international call-up for the England U20 squad last September, was earmarked for another loan spell by Town boss David Flitcroft after the County Ground arrival of gloveman Stuart Moore in the transfer window.

Moore was brought in to challenge number one Reice Charles-Cook, with last season’s player of the year Lawrence Vigouroux still out in the cold despite not securing a move away from the club in January.

Flitcroft said last Thursday: “We have spoken to Will. It will probably go into next week now but that is something we have been working really closely on.

“It is right for Will and it is right for the club but we have just got to get the deal over the line.”

Henry, who saved a penalty on his Town debut at Rochdale in April 2016, has previously had loan spells at Hellenic League side Shrivenham and spent time at Dunstable Town in the Southern Premier Division last season.

Ironically, he is likely to have a quick-fire return to Wiltshire, with Hampton scheduled for a National League South trip to Chippenham Town - who currently have Swindon Town striker Scott Twine on loan - on Saturday week.
