SWINDON Wildcats have confirmed Eliot Randall and Loris Taylor as the club’s latest signings, following yesterday’s news that Toms Rutkis agreed a two-way deal.

While Randall joins on a two-way basis with the NIHL2 Wildcats, Taylor – skipper of the club’s second team - has agreed to join the first team on a four-week trial.

Randell’s step up to the senior team follows two years spent with Wildcats’ academy, during which he posted 50 goals in 35 games.

He also captained the Swindon Cougars in the U18s league last season.

Randall joins on a two-way deal with the NIHL2 Wildcats, where he scored nine points in 15 games last year.

And the 18-year-old has impressed Wildcats player-coach Aaron Nell, who admitted to having one eye on the future when making the signing.

He said: “Eliot is a fantastic prospect.

“He will train with the team and play up for us when he can, he is highly thought of and I have been impressed when I’ve seen him play.

“We are extremely lucky to have the Swindon Wildcats Ice Hockey Academy (SWIHA) providing players for the future in Swindon.

“The SWIHA is the biggest junior set up in the UK and this highlights the pathway for the youngsters is there.”

Taylor’s capture meanwhile comes four years after the experienced forward last appeared for Wildcats’ first team.

The 24-year-old will be looking to secure a full-time deal with the Cats after voicing his intent to play in the first team to Nell towards the end of last season.

Nell said: “Loris was eager to play for the senior Wildcats again.

“He knows the club and he is another product of the SWIHA, he should fit right into the locker-room from the moment we all meet up.

“Loris has been around a while, but it is easy to forget he’s only 24, he’s been working hard this summer and is ready to grab his trial with both hands.”
