SWINDON Robins team manager Alun Rossiter conceded that no championship will be won this season unless attitudes start to change, following another heavy away defeat at Somerset.

The Robins ran a last place in 14 of the 15 heats at the Oak Tree Arena last night, only a consolation 5-1 in the final race of the night ensured Rossiter’s troops escaped suffering their heaviest defeat of the season as the Rebels coasted to a 54-36 win.

Mechanical gremlins did little to help Robins’ cause too – Troy Batchelor and Tobiasz Musielak both blew engines while David Bellego retired in his two concluding rides after looking unstoppable when recording three races wins in the meeting’s early stages.

Not using his side’s luckless night as an excuse, Rossiter expressed his disappointment at the result but added no team changes will be made.

He said: “It’s not good enough, we’ve got to buck our ideas up otherwise we’re not going to make the playoffs. It’s as simple as that.

“They’ve got to start upping their game. If you want to win championships you’ve got to be able to win away from home.

“At the moment it looks like we’re going to win nothing. There’s not a lot we can learn from tonight.

“I’m bitterly disappointed, we need to change some attitudes.

“There’s no point in making team changes, nobody is out there right now that will make any massive change to this team.”
