POTTERNE 2nd stretched their lead at the top of Wiltshire League Division One as they clinched a seven-wicket win over third-placed Great Bedwyn, while nearest rivals Hinton Charterhouse's game against Winsley was abandoned.

Ben Mason took 4-35 for the leaders as Bedwyn were dismissed for 129 in the 35th over.

Set a revised target to chase, Potterne reached 69-3 inside 14 overs, with Sam Gaiger unbeaten on 37.

The only other match to be completed saw Malmesbury claim a thumping nine-wicket triumph over Box.

Jack Ward took 3-42 in nine overs for Malmesbury as Box were dismissed for just 83 inside 33 overs, Gerald Hayward the mainstay with 31.

James Gaunt's unbeaten 45 then got Malmesbury to their meagre target in 14 overs.

Division Two

BEEHIVE Southwick sprung a major surprise as they defeated leaders Beckington by seven wickets.

Rory Kelly scored 50 for the leaders but Gary Collins took 4-34 and Brian Jefferies 3-51 as they totalled 263-9.

Chasing a revised 147 in 25 overs, Beehive completed the job as Neil Harber hit 70 and Mike Spong an unbeaten 50.

Swindon United Churches were denied by the weather five overs into their reply to Bath Hospitals' 202 all out, in which Richard Martin took 3-26, leg spinner Ravi Dhayalan 2-42 and seam bowler Bilal Hussain 2-39.

Aled Evans' unbeaten 79 and 57 from Thomas Walker proved in vain for Biddestone 2nd against Lacock as the weather forced another abandonment.

Division Three

NOT even the conditions could stop the Goatacre 2nd juggernaut as they claimed a 15th win in a row, defeating Wroughton Wranglers by six wickets.

Wroughton were dismissed for 85, Joshua Moncrieff scoring 40 of them as Thomas Ponting took 3-23.

Elliot Townsend's 35 got Goatacre to their target in under 20 overs.

Ed Read smashed a superb unbeaten 172 of Heytesbury & Sutton Veny's 273-3 against Marlborough 2nd.

But set 170 off 28 overs, Marlborough got the job done for the loss of two wickets as openers Vital Guntaka (85) and Raghuveer Tupurani (71) knocked off the bulk of the runs.

Burbage & Easton Royal were eight-wicket winners over Potterne 3rd, whom they dismissed for 80 as Mark Styles took 3-7 in six overs and Fraser Gordon 5-30 in 8.4.

Burbage reached their target inside 11 overs.

Division Four

WITH all other matches abandoned, Ramsbury were eight-wicket winners over Devizes 2nd, Joe Hutchinson (43) and James Dunford (56) getting Devizes to 251-9.

As their target was reduced to 140 runs off 25 overs, Ramsbury completed the task inside 19, Rich Turnell with 68 and Fred Walker 45 not out.

Division Five

ERLESTOKE clinched a seven-wicket success against Bathford, who reached 241-7 as Adam Brunton scored 62.

Chasing a 156 runs off 29 overs, Erlestoke were home in 21.

Division Seven

MALMESBURY 2nd's top three of Oliver Burke (94), Nigel Mullarkey (77) and Richard Mosdell (62 not out) did the bulk of the damage as they reached 281-4 against Beehive Southwick 2nd.

Set 169 off 27 overs, Beehive fell seven runs short, as Clive Warren scored 88 and Phil Stockley 47 not out.

Leaders Trowbridge 3rd fell to a five-wicket loss to Lacock 2nd, despite amassing 301-6 in just 39 overs.

James Taylor smashed 122 of that total as Matt Harding took 3-45 for Lacock, who were set 168 off 25 overs for the victory.

They achieved it with the help of 63 not out from Jonathan Helps and 46 from Paul Taylor.
