WILTSHIRE U18s brushed Somerset aside to secure a 12-3 victory in their first Channel League match at Farrington Park Golf Club.

The morning saw Wiltshire post a 4-1 lead as all but one of their pairs won matches.

A further eight singles wins wrapped up the triumph for the team of Guy Drayton, Oliver Jeans, Harry Moule, Max Wrixon, James Black, Connor Askey, Freddie Titcombe, Rory Cameron, Kyle Campbell and Dom Samra.

Wiltshire's U16 squad played against Gloucestershire at Wrag Barn Golf Club taking a 3-2 lead in the morning pairings.

Despite falling back in the singles to lose 10.5-4.5 overall, there were some fine performances from Wiltshire, who had borrowed some U14s players to feature in the match, Eddie Alexander pulling back from three down at 16 to halve his match and Jamie Davis turned a one-hole deficit on the 16th into a win.

The Wiltshire team also included Dom Samra, Brad Smith, Ben Mazzotta, Bradley Fitz-Henry-Roe, Callum Bygrave, Jarvis Bell, Charlie Brewer and Callum Fitzgerald.

The winner of the 2018 Manor House Junior Open was Cameron Fear, from Somerset, who took the Martin Nicholls Trophey with a nett 68, followed by Cameron Young, from Salisbury & South Wilts GC.

3rd Nett with 70 was Macklin Hawkins from Broome Manor and Macklin Hawkins (Broome Manor), both 69.

The gross results saw Wrag Barn's Oliver Jeans with 76 and Broome Manor's Freddie Titcombe and Erlestoke's James Black with 77.

Ben Mazzotta was crowned junior champion and gross winner of the Salisbury & South Wilts Junior Open.
