Adver Sport assess the performances of the Swindon Town players during today’s 1-0 away at Morecambe in League Two.

LUKE MCCORMICK – 9.5

Only played because of Lawrence Vigouroux’s absence for international duty but turned in an outstanding display littered with crucial match-winning saves.

KYLE KNOYLE – 4.5

Had a bit of a spark going forwards initially but got himself sent off for a needless lunge and left his team-mates with a lot of hard work.

SID NELSON – 8.5

A strong performance in adversity, controlled the Shrimps front-line well and got in a number of crucial challenges.

LUKE WOOLFENDEN – 9

One shaky moment early on but grew into the game and after finding his feet in the heart of defence, looked even more impressive after shifting to full-back. Superb debut.

MATT TAYLOR – 7

Steady performance on the left-hand side of Town’s defence. The nature of the game meant we didn’t see too much offensively but helped form a tight rear-guard.

KESHI ANDERSON – 6.5

Created a couple of decent openings early on but a promising display was cut short when he was sacrificed for defensive reinforcements after the red card.

MICHAEL DOUGHTY – 6.5

Plenty of incisive play as you would expect but the opportunity for him to dictate the game went when Town were reduced in numbers.

JAK MCCOURT – 7.5

Handed a first start in the league and delivered a brave performance. Tenacious effort in the middle of the park robbed the Shrimps of any time. Booked.

STEVEN ALZATE – 7

Lively in wide positions and had the beating of the Morecambe full-backs on a number of occasions. Subbed late on.

MARC RICHARDS (C) – 6.5

A physical presence as the focal point of the Town attack and linked play nicely at times but not much fell his way in terms of chances around the box and was withdrawn in the latter stages.

ELIJAH ADEBAYO – 7.5

Was a handful up top and showed good composure for the goal that proved the difference between the teams. Could have had another to his name too.

Substitutes:

OLLY LANCASHIRE – 7.5

(For Anderson, 37) Played through the pain barrier and helped form a resolute Swindon defence.

JERMAINE MCGLASHAN – 6.5

(For Richards, 71) Added a bit of pace but missed a good chance to kill the game.

ELLIS IANDOLO – 6

(For Alzate, 80) A few nice touches but did not get long enough to impact the game.

Subs not used: Will Henry, Martin Smith, Joe Romanski, Scott Twine.
