IT’S been a positive week for the team after confirming our spot in the next stage of the Autumn Cup.

We won at home on Saturday to secure that, though unfortunately we couldn’t do the double against Telford as we lost at their rink.

Games where you’re already through are tough to play in, motivation-wise.

It’s hard to travel up and get that real feeling before a game. But we know by now that every game for us is a big game.

We had Michael Crisp in goal and we performed well towards the end, despite starting the game slowly.

This year the Autumn Cup will actually be in autumn, which obviously makes sense.

We’re pushing for as many trophies and titles as we possibly can. We want to defend our two trophies from last season.

That means we can’t take anything lightly – be it a cup game, league game or a Sunday game where we’re already through.

We still wanted to finish top of the group before Sunday’s fixture.

We welcome Renny Marr back this weekend after he has completed serving his suspension.

While it will be good to have Renny back, the team has been covered well by Michael and Tyler (Perre).

Both players have really proven themselves and I think they will be play a big part in our team in the future.

Now the Autumn Cup group stage matches are out of the way, we can start to focus on the league.

Traditionally we’ve made slow starts, but these Autumn Cup games have helped us prepare for the league fixtures.

Bracknell have started really well, and with the league losing points early on can really cost a team further down the line.

We’ve never been great at finishing off games during my team at Swindon.

That’s something we’ve worked on as a team – traditionally we sit back and let a team come onto us, which is never a wise thing to do.
