ONE TO WATCH: Kevin van Veen

If any player is set to cause Swindon problems on Saturday, it’s Dutchman Kevin van Veen.

The leading Northampton goalscorer, who was rested for Tuesday night’s tie at home to Bury, has notched four times for the Cobblers this season.

Coupled with Swindon’s strong recent defensive record and Northampton’s poor away goalscoring record, Veen will be keen to right the club’s wrongs this season at the County Ground and edge them further clear of the relegation zone.

KEY BATTLE: Marc Richards v Leon Barrett

Tomorrow will be a bizarre occasion for Swindon striker Marc Richards, who will square up to a club he’s currently employed by.

Out-of-form Richards has scored just the once for Swindon this season – a crucial strike in Town’s 3-2 at home to Tranmere Rovers on his return to the first team after picking up an injury at Melksham Town during pre-season.

But the experienced forward has since struggled to find the net, and experienced centre half Leon Barnett will be out to continue Richards’ goal drought.

The 32-year-old has won promotion to the Premier League on three occasions and played in positions across the pitch, making him Northampton’s most versatile player.
