Lawrence Vigouroux – 8.5
Could’ve easily been two goals behind with 10 minutes played. Several key first half stops and patrolled his area well in the second when County faded.
Kyle Knoyle – 7
Proved useful of the right and linked well with McGlashan as Town exploited a clear area of weakness for County, despite no goals coming directly from the pair.
Sid Nelson – 7
No nonsense once again. Chipped a tooth in the process of keeping the awkward Jon Stead at bay. Came close to a red card for some nothing challenges, remained composed. Mature performance.
Olly Lancashire – 6.5
Reacted not just in one capacity but two. Solid response to his Tuesday night critics and held his head up when Swindon went a goal behind. Not a standout performance, but one of leadership.
Matt Taylor – 7
Struggled to deal with Boldewijn initially, who proved a nuisance for the hosts on the right-hand side of the pitch. But recovered well. Can’t claim the second goal, but worked tirelessly – which deserves credit.
Martin Smith – 6
Missed a pair of massive chances in the first half, which ultimately bumps his rating down a tad. Quiet game, not too much to mention – similarly not much to criticise.
Jak McCourt – 6.5
Quiet game in midfield having been granted a starting opportunity. Passed the ball around well and worked into the area in spells. Could be considered for reselection.
James Dunne – 6.5
Worked hard for little personal reward. Part of a midfield that controlled play in the second half well to end Town’s five-game winless run.
Michael Doughty – 7
Marked as a key man by the hosts. Won tackles in the first half and played the ugly side of the game well. Subbed.
Jermaine McGlashan – 7
Didn’t stop running when in possession – and most importantly retained the ball well, something Town have lacked recently in that final third. Created, arguably, Brown’s biggest selection headache ahead of Colchester.
Marc Richards – 5.5
Another game without a goal. Placed a volley wide in the first half but not a prolific figure in front of goal – time for a change up front? Subbed.
Subs:
Steven Alzate – 7.5 Granted a large amount of time and space to score his goal. Superb finish. Dramatic improvement from Tuesday’s showing.
Keshi Anderson – 6 Did enough to help Town cross the line and earn three points during his brief spell.
Elijah Adebayo - 6 Didn’t give the ball away as cheaply as he has done in previous games. Being benched a wake up call perhaps.
