DAVID Colclough has set his sights on maximum points for Swindon Shock this month as they travel to Cardiff City in National League Division Three South.

The New College side are currently top-of -the-league with six points, following a strong start to the campaign.

This month Swindon face Cardiff, Bristol Flyers II and Newcastle Eagles U23s in the National Shield before taking a two-week break.

After recording a home win over Essex Blades a week ago, the Shock player-coach says he has his eye on a perfect record for November, starting with the Welsh side.

“We have Cardiff City next, then we are at home to Bristol and then we have a cup game against Newcastle U23s,” he said.

“Then we are off for two weeks. Cardiff are an inconsistent team and they have taken a few guys who used to play for us, who were playing for Bristol.

“Bristol are in a strange place at the moment, we were expecting them to be really good but they’ve just fired their head coach.

“I don’t know what they’ll do, their new coach will have to get to know their players and then they come to us, which is great.

“So, if we can take care of Cardiff, then we should get wins against them and Bristol.”

Colclough boasts that his side are fully fit and believes his roster is far stronger than what he had available to him last season.

“We are such a stronger team than we were last year, but we just have to make sure that we stay together,” he added.

“If we stay together as a team, look to each other to help out and don’t take the frustrated approach, I think we will this season.

“The only player we have been without consistently is Lee Hobbis, but he’s been travelling and doing a lot of things.

“The guys are really clocked in and tuned in for the season so I’m really happy with who we have at the moment.”
