SWINDON Town will host non-league side Woking in the second round of the FA Cup following this evening’s draw.

Town will go head-to-head with the National League South side on the weekend of Saturday, December 1.

The Energy Check County Ground side are seeking a place in the third round for the first time since the 2011-12 season.

Swindon reached the second round for the second season in succession at the weekend following a 2-1 success at home to National League North side York City.

Steven Alzate scored a second-half winner for Swindon after York’s David Ferguson had cancelled out Scott Twine’s opener for the home side.

Woking earned their place with a narrow 1-0 win away at divisional rivals Torquay United.

Town were beaten in the second round of the competition 12 months ago when they went down 5-2 at League Two rivals Stevenage.

The club’s last run beyond this stage came seven seasons ago and included a win over then Premier League side Wigan Athletic in the third round before they fell to then Championship outfit Leicester City in round four.

Town have only faced Woking twice in competitive matches previously, with both of those contests also coming at the County Ground in the FA Cup.

Swindon were 2-0 winners over the Cards in the third round back in the 1995-96 season, and then claimed a 1-0 victory in the first round back in 2009-10.

The two sides have met as recently as the summer of 2017, with Town claiming a 3-0 win on the road in a pre-season friendly.
