Lawrence Vigouroux – 7.5
Didn’t have an enormous amount of saves to make, but came out to collect crosses well. Distribution was generally strong too. No stopping Rovers’ goal.
Canice Carroll – 7.5
Made a strong run down to left to create Town’s first goal. Sometimes hit a block when entering Rovers’ half, perhaps need more movement from his teammates.
Tom Broadbent – 8
Put his head on the line, near faultless in the first half. Wobbled in the second under pressure, but generally a good performance.
Luke Woolfenden – 7
Few rushed clearances amid Rovers’ purple patch at the start of the second half. But recovered well and can tick off another good performance.
Ali Koiki – 8
Very impressive on the left wing in the first half. Good crosses and strong instinct to move the ball forwards. Would be surprised if he’s dropped after that.
James Dunne – 7
Had a couple of chances on the edge of the penalty area, but both were guided into Davies’ gloves. Battled hard, sometimes in vain.
Jak McCourt – 7.5
Should’ve put the game to bed with five minutes remaining, but proved capable on free kicks and is starting to come to form.
Michael Doughty – 7.5
A clinical finish to score Town’s second goal. Perhaps frustrated to be subbed, but Wellens tweaked his tactics to secure the points.
Keshi Anderson – 7
Had his moments and on another day one of his blocked shots would have found a way through. More strong runs on the edge of the area.
Kaiyne Woolery – 6.5
Starting to improve and made some good runs. But goalless again. A fair performance, nothing too spectacular.
Marc Richards – 7.5
Starting to find his rhythm now and added his third goal of the season. A tidy flick to put Town ahead. Faded a little in the second half.
SUBS:
Danny Rose: 6.5
Quite a quiet debut for Rose. But perhaps that tells us that he did his job. Like Taylor, calmed the game down.
Matt Taylor: 6.5
Calmed the game right down, though didn’t have enough time to get a real look at.
Kyle Knoyle: 7
Showed confidence to push forward when Tranmere looked the more likely to score.
