A BOOK of condolences in memory of former Swindon Town manager Danny Williams has been set up following his death last weekend.

Club legends Don Rogers, John Trollope, Frank Burrows and Joe Butler were amongst the first to sign the book, alongside current first-team manager Richie Wellens at the Energy Check County Ground on Friday.

The quartet were in the Town side managed by Williams who won the League Cup in 1969 with victory over Arsenal in the final at Wembley.

The book will be available for supporters to sign in the club shop until next Tuesday’s League Two game at home to Forest Green Rovers.

The club posted on social media: “Don Rogers, John Trollope, Frank Burrows and Joe Butler, along with first-team manager Richie Wellens, were the first to write messages in a book of condolence for Danny Williams.

“The book will be available for fans to sign on weekdays in the club shop from now.

“Fans will also be able to pen their tributes up until kick-off on matchday next Tuesday.

“A representative of the club will be taking the book to Danny's funeral. Fans are able to come and pay their personal tributes today and continuing into all of next week.”
